North East Trees implements its mission through five core program areas which are:
Parks Design/Build – We plan, design, and build, neighborhood and river adjacent parks and trails for the purpose of restoring native habitat and creating passive recreation opportunities.
Watershed Rehabilitation – We plan, design, and implement watershed improvements with the express purpose of restoring waterways and associated habitat, improving water quality, and increasing stormwater infiltration.
Urban Forestry – We develop urban forestry solutions for agencies, other organizations, communities and neighborhoods that maximize the environmental benefits of protecting and enhancing the urban forest.
Youth Environmental Stewardship – We educate and train at-risk youth and young adults in environmental disciplines. These programs are designed to build individual character and develop a community-based work force to help steward environmental awareness in resource challenged communities.
Community Stewardship – We assist neighborhoods and communities in the development of resources, capacity, and network links that are “Bringing Nature Back” to under-resourced and environmentally challenged communities. This helps interested residents and business owners take action by initiating, developing, and maintaining such improvements.
