Thienes Park

Project Description

Thienes Park provides a gateway to the bike and equestrian path used by bikers, equestrians, fisherman, joggers and nature lovers.

 The confluence of the San Gabriel River and San Jose Creek in the city of South El Monte.


A circle of boulders overlooking the confluence, stone seating, interpretive signage, decomposed granite surfaces, a drinking fountain, and a bike rack were installed for the use and enjoyment of the public. Native plants such as coyote brush, western redbud, California buckwheat, bush sunflower, California wild rose, Elderberry and native vines enhance this park.
